the meeting adjourned.

Recen!ty I proposed ~o furnish the Safety Traffic
Light at Dixie Crossing in exchange for the old ~top Go
Light. I understand that my proRosition was-rejected for
the reason that the price of the old signal is much higher
t_han the new Light. I do not expect an early sale for a
Stop Go Signal and may have the same on ray hands forever.
I want ~o modify ~y proposition as follows:
i will f~mnish the light at once am_d will let you use
it for 60 days son approval and if you find then, that
my light is doing better service and is more economical
tb~n the Stop sm~d Go Li~nt~ you will have the option to
turn Lu the light for payment, or sell the same at your
own price;
Will you please br!m_g this before the next Council

proposition was tabled.
The matter of Ordinance No. ilV~ an Ordinance
amending an Ordinance fix Lug the budget mud tax levy
of the Town of Boynton for the fiscal ye~ !931-!93~
was brought up.
Upon motion made Oy Co=missioner Bowen, seconded
by Commissioner Nutting and unanimously carried, the
following Ordinance NO. llV was placed upon its second
and final reading arid duly adopted.

the respective sums hereinabove set forth.

millage of five mills be levied against all of the taxable
property now in the Town of Boynton for tt~e purpose of
raising funds as ~oove for the payment of said bonded
debt service for the fiscal year 1931 1932.
BE IT FL~RTHA~ ORDAINED That pursuant to and in
compliance with the Peremptory V~rit hereinabove referred
to~ the Treasurer of the Town of Boynton is authorized end
directed to set apart in a separate fund the proper pro
rata portion of ~ll sums hereinafter collected
debt service for the fiscal year 1931 - 1932..
so authorized and directed to be set aside in
Fund, to be paid over to Palm Beach Company, sb~!i be a
proportionate ~mount of each tax collection made for bond

Conserning the above matter we wrote you under date
of February 8th concerning the costs of perfecting the
appeal. At that time the costs of appeal were approximated
at ~i× Hundred ($600.00) Dollars. After gettir~ into this
_matter we found it necessary to include more exhibits tha~
we had sm_ticipated end also fo-~ud that the cosz of printing
the record, owing ~o the additional exhibits required, had
been underestimated. As a matter of fact the costs of this
appeal iD_ actual disbursements wili be approximately One
Thous~ud (~l,O00.O0) D~llars. In response to our letter
you set us check for Four Hundred Dollars. It will be
necessary for us to have these additions/ costs immediately.
You will therefore let us have your check for Six Hundred

A~t~e~ considerable discussion of the appointment
of a successor to F. ~,~. Richardson~ Sro Co.~missioner
Stevens stated that a large n~ber of citizens had
approached him smd reco~uended that he appoint
M. H. Ps, tin, and t~hat he believed it was the desire
of tb_e people that ~h~. Partin receive this appointment.
Thereupon Co~nissioner Stevens appointed ~Ir.
Ps~tin as Totem Marshal and Water Superintendent, to
take effect at once~ subject to the approval of the
Commission. The salary ~o be received by ~ir. Partin
~o be named later.

Co~issionsr Nutting stated that a room in the
~ite Buit~ing on Ocean Avenue bad been offered vo the
Totem for use as an office at a nominal rent of ~to00
per ye~, comaencing on May 1, !932. After some dis-
cussion of t~e marker, Co~=misslonsr Stevens made a motion
that
~_~ the proposition be accepted. This motion was
seconded by Co~m~issioner Nuttir~ and duly carried.
Treasurer F. L~ Y_mderson brought up the matter
of the omission of Edward Lombard's snd a part of
A. H. Dunnma~s time from the last Firemen payroll.
Com~ais sioner Nutting ~de a motion that the
balance due the Firemen as approved by Chief Charles
Senior~ be approved by the Co~aission s~nd tha~ the
firemen be ~sid~ This motion was seconded by
Commissioner Bowen and duly carried.
The Treasurer stated that there was a balance
in the Interest & Sinking Fund of ~88~.~,!n the
Depositors~ ~nd ~1,~8~ aud in th~ General
~1~536~23 and a balance of cash on hand ~n the
office including the Petty Cash fund of
Co.~v~_issioner Stevens talked on the equalization
of the assessed value of property in the Tome and
that from comp!a~ts w_~_ieh he had heard that there
were instances w£~re the values were unequal
unfair and that in his opinion the entire Totem
should be revalued and that a Co~_ittes should
be appointed to make t~e assessments.:'. ~ter c~n~
siderable disaussion it was fiecided to wait a while
before deciding on the appointment of a Co~mmittee
to do this work.
~avcr Stevens stated that he ~as of the opini~a
tha~ a Board o£ Advisors should be appointed or
chosen in some manmer. This Board to work w.i~th the
Comm~ission, It being the i:atent that by havir~ such
a Board that the Commission could be better advised
as to what the citizens amd ~ax-pssy-ers wanted.
Mayor Stevens called on several of the tax-
payers present~ as to their views regarding the
manner in which this Board should be selected. After
a lengthy discussion it was decided tb~t the best w~
to choose this Board would '6e at a l~ass Meeting,
Thereupon ~o~issioner S~evens ~anounced ti~t
he would call a ~ass ~eeting of the tax-payers ~d
freeholders of the Town of Boynton at the Womans~
Club on Tuesday evening~ April 20th, 1932~ at 8 o~clock
P. E, for the purpose of nominating and eiectir~ an
Advisory Board of seven freeholders and that the
members so elected o~ said Board we~ to serve withouv
psG~ anm that their duty would be to mee~ and consider
problems coming before the Co~mission and to advise
the Coz~ission as ~o the best way to h~,dle such
matt er s.
The Treasurer was i~as~ructed 5o send out post
cards"to tree t~-p~ers inviting them to attend this
~,~as s l~e et in4.
Commissioner Bowen made a mo~ion t~t the call
of this meetir~ be approved by the Con~,ission. This
motion was seconde~ ~- Commissioner Nuttir4 mhd duly
carried.
