R19-110 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, 4 FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE FISCAL YEAR 2019 JUSTICE ASSISTANCE GRANT (JAG) (2019-DJ-BX- 1 0808) IN THE AMOUNT OF $34,740.00 AND TO SIGN ANY REQUIRED DOCUMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE GRANT ACCEPTANCE, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL 10 BY THE CITY ATTORNEY; AND PROVIDING AN 1 EFFECTIVE DATE. 1 ' 1 . 1 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach Police Department has been awarded 1 $34,740.00 in grant funding for the Department of Justice fiscal year 2019 Justice Assistance 1:. Grant(JAG) (2019-DJ-BX-0808); and 1 WHEREAS,the grant funding will be used to purchase software to collect and analyze 1;; information to reduce crime; and 1. WHEREAS,upon recommendation of staff,the City Commission has determined that 2 II it is in the best interests of the residents of the City to authorize the Mayor to sign all documents 2 associated with acceptance of the Department of Justice fiscal year 2019 Justice Assistance 2 ' Grant(JAG) (2019-DJ-BX-0808) in the amount of$34,740.00 for the purchase of software to 2 ; collect and analyze information to reduce crime. 2 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF 2 . THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,THAT: 2;. Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 2 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption 2 ; hereof. 2' Section 2.
