R19-118 2 3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, 4 AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN THE FLORIDA 5 DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION (FDEP) 6 GRANT AGREEMENT NO. LBSP1 (LAND-BASED SOURCES OF 7 POLLUTION) FOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THREE RAIN 8 GARDENS AND/OR BIO-SWALES DEMONSTRATION PROJECTS 9 OBLIGATING FEDERAL AND STATE FUNDS FOR THE AMOUNT 10 OF $70,000.00; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. 11 12 13 WHEREAS, the FDEP provides grants through the Coral Reef Conservation 14 Program (CRCP) for demonstration projects leading to the protection of the Southeast 15 Florida Coral Reef Environmental Conservation Area; and 16 WHEREAS, the City of Boynton Beach has been selected to receive a grant for 17 the implementation of three rain gardens and/or bio-swales demonstration projects; and 18 WHEREAS, the $70,000.00 for this project will be made available through a cost 19 reimbursement grant which requires the execution of the Agreement with the Florida 20 Department of Environmental Protection. 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION 22 OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,FLORIDA,THAT: 23 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed as 24 being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon adoption 25 hereof. 26 Section 2. The City Commission approves and authorizes the Mayor to sign the 27 Grant Agreement with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection in the amount of 28 $70,000.00 for the implementation of three rain gardens and/or bio-swales demonstration 29 projects, a copy of the Grant Agreement is attached hereto as Exhibit"A".
