AN ORD/_NA~CE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACI{,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 21-31 OF THE CODI-
FIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY BY PROVIDING FOR
PARTICIPATION OF NEW EMPLOYEES IN THE EMPLOYEES'
PENSION PLAN WITHOUT COMPLETION OF A PROBATIONARY
PERIOD; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, SAV-
GS CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISIONS, AN EFFECTIVE
TE AND FOR OTHE. R PURPOSES.
WHEREAS~ the Employees' Pension Plan presently requires that
s new, full-time, general City employee complete a probationary
period before participating in said Plan; and
W-HEREASs the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach deems
it necessary and advisable to provide such new employees with a
more equitable pension plan by eliminating the completion of a
probationary period; and
WHEREAS, the elimination of the probationary period as a
prerequisite for particzpation of new employees in the Plan has
been recommended by the Board of Trustees of the Employees'
Pension Plan;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: Section 21-31 of the Codified Ordinances of the
City of Boynton Beach,
as follows:
"Section 21-31.

New, full-time, general city employees will participate
in the plan on the first day of their becoming a full-
time general city employee. Full time~ permanent employees
who do not elect to become original members of the plan may
elect to become new members of the plan as of any anni-
versary of the effective date of-the plan by giving writ-
ten notice to the city manager at least one month before
such anniversary date."
Section 2: Authority to Codify: Specific authority is hereby
ranted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's
existing Code.
Section 3: Separability:
