AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTOi~ BEACH, FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR THE EXPENDITURE OF TEN PERCENT OF ALL REVENUE SHARING FUNDS RECEIVED UNDER THE STATE AND LOCAL FISCAL ASSISTANCE ACT OF 1972 FOR ORD/NARY AND NECESSARY ~AiNTENAIQ~E ,AND OPERATING EXPENSES FOR SOCIAL SERViCEs FO'R THE POOR OR' AGED; PRovIDING FOR AUTHORITM ~O ~6DtF¥, SAVi'N~S CLAUSE,' t~EpEALING PROVISIONS, AN~ EFFECTIVE DATE ANE k~{EREAS, the City of Boynton Beach, and shall in the future receive Revenue State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act ~rPIEREAS, under Section 51.31 (a) FOR OTHER PURPOSES. Florida, has received Sharing Funds under the of 1972; and (1) of the Rules ~nd Regulations of said Act, such funds may be used and necessary maintenance and operating expenses services for the poor or aged; and for ordinary for social WHEREAS, it necessary and advisable to expend ten percent of all Revenue Sharing Funds heretofore and hereafter received purposes; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Boynton the City Council of the City of Beynton Beach deems such for such Beach has heretofore created and established a Community Relations Board whose activities are closely related to the needs of the poor and aged; NOW, THEREFORE, CITY OF BOYNTON Section 1: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE BEACH, FLORIDA: That ten percent of all Revenue Sharing Funds under the State and Local Fiscal Assistance Act of 1972 hereto- fore and hereafter received by the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, shall be expended for the ordinary and necessary maintenance and operating expenses for social services for the poor or aged residents of the City of Boynton Beach~ Florida, of the ,City Council of the City of Boynton Beach, hereinafter provided. upon the approval Florida, as Section 2: Each application for such expenditures shall be submitted to the Community Relations Board for review, study and investigation. Thereafter~ the Community Relations Board shall furnish its written recommendation to the City Council of the City of Boynton Beach as to such application. Section 3: No portion of the said ten percent of the Revenue Sharing Funds shall be disbursed by the City of Boynton Beach for such ordinary and necessary maintenance and operating expenses for social services for the poor or aged unless recommended by a majority of the entire membership of the Community Relations Board and thereafter approved by th~ City Council of the City of Boynton Beach. ~eetion 4: The said ten percent portion of the Revenue Sharing Funds shall he limited to ten percent of the Funds actually received by the City of Boynton Beach. When the distri- bution of the said Revenue Sharing Funds to the City of Boynton Beach is terminated~ the expenditures by the City of Boynton Beach for the said ordinary and necessary maintenance and operat- ing expenses for social services for the poor or aged shall like- wise terminate. Section 5: Authority to Codify: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's existing Code. Section Ordinance are sentence~ and the remalning portion shall not he full force and effect. 6: Separability: Each of the provisions of this separable~ including word, clause, phrase or if any portion thereof shall be declared invalid~ affected hut shall remain an -2- Section 7: Repealing of ordinances in conflict herewith ~ection 8: An ef~ectiv~ date: effective in the manner and at the Provision. s.: All ordinances or parts are hereby repealed.
