Present: Steven B. Grant, Mayor Lori LaVerriere, City Manager Ty Penserga, Vice Mayor James Cherof, City Attorney Justin Katz, Commissioner Crystal Gibson, City Clerk Woodrow L. Hay, Commissioner Christina Romelus, Commissioner 1. Agenda Items A. Call to Order - Mayor Steven B. Grant Mayor Grant called the meeting to order at 5:02 p.m. John McNally, ITS Director, provided an introduction and information regarding how the public could participate in the online meeting. Invocation Commissioner Romelus gave the invocation. Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag led by Commissioner Woodrow L. Hay Commissioner Hay led the members in the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll Call City Clerk Gibson called the roll. A quorum was present. Agenda Approval: 1. Additions, Deletions, Corrections There were no additions, deletions or corrections to the agenda. 2. Adoption Special Meeting Boynton Beach City Commission Boynton Beach, FL September 30, 2020 Motion Commissioner Katz moved to approve the agenda. Commissioner Hay seconded the motion. The motion unanimously passed. B. Proposed Emergency Ordinance No. 20-033 —Adoption of Emergency Ordinance allowing for virtual city commission meetings by communication media technology. Jim Cherof, City Attorney, read Proposed Emergency Ordinance No. 20-033 by title only. Motion Commissioner Hay moved to approve Emergency Ordinance No. 20-033. Vice Mayor Penserga seconded the motion. Mayor Grant asked if the Ordinance requires the City Commission to appear by video, if able. City Attorney Cherof replied that the Ordinance allows the City Commission to appear by communication media technology and does not contain a requirement for a live image of the Commissioner to be broadcast at that time. There was no further discussion and no comments from the public. Vote The motion unanimously passed. 2. Adjourn Motion Commissioner Hay moved to adjourn. Commissioner Romelus seconded the motion.
