AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, PROVIDING FOR AMENDMENT TO SECTION
5-2 OF CHAPTER 5 TO THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF
SAID CITY CONSTITUTING THE CITY'S GENERAL
BUILDING CODE; PROVIDING FURRIER FOR AUTHORITY
TO CODIFY REPEALING PROVISIONS, SAVINGS CLAUSE,
PENALTY PROVISI~)NS, AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That Section 105.3(c) of Section 5-2 of the
Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be and the same
is hereby amended to read:
"AIl drawings and specifications for residences and duplexes
of 2200 square feet or more, commercial or public buildings
and struczures of $5,000. 00 value or more, shall bear the
signature and seal of a registered architect or engineer,
registered in the State of Florida and the name of the owner
or his agent. Any building under the jurisdiction of the Hotel
Commission shall be designed by a registered architect. Any
structural remodeling or szructural alterations, plans to be
prepared by a registered/g~r~D~,~i3~tL~or engineer. Certified
members of the Florida ~~Designers Associalion
may prepare plans and specifications for single family and
duplex residences, irregardless of size, provided, the Associa-
tion's seal is affixed %o such plans and specifications."
Section 2: Specific authority is hereby granted zo codify and
incorporate this Ordinance in the Cit?s existing Code.
Section 3: Repealing Provisions: All ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 4: Separability: Each of the provisions of this Crdi-
nance are separable, including word, clause, phrase or sentence, and if any
portion hereof shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall noz be
affected but shall remain in full force and effect.
Section 5: Effective Date: This Ordinance shall become
effective in the manner and at the time provided in the Charter and Ordinance~
of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
Section 6: Penalty Provisions: Any person, firm or corpora-
tion violating the terms of this Ordinance shall upon conviction be penalized
by a fine not exceeding $500. 00 or imprisonment in the City Jail for
a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprison-
