BE IT RESOLVEDBYTHE ~IT~ COM~4TSSION OF THECITf OF ~OyNToNRE~CHi FLORIDA: That the Municipal Employee's Classified Pay Plan be amended to add the position title of Golf course Chemica~ spray Technician at a pay grade of 19. The job description for Golf Course Chemical Spray Technician attached hereto is adopted as part of this resolution. S~AL~ - GOLF COURSE CHEMICAL SPRAY TECHNICIAN NATURE OF WORK This is semi-skilled work involving operation of equipment used to spray and apply chemicals needed to maintain a golf course. Em- ployee ts responsible for the proper application, storage, inventory and record keeping of herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and other products needed for turf maintenance. Employee may be assigned as truck driver, tractor or mower operator, or operator of s!milar light equipment. Work may involve occasional suuervisory responsibilities as lead worker. All work is subject to inspection while in progress and.on completion, although employee is expected~to work with minimal supervision on routine tasks. Performs other related duties as required to maintain go~f course, as directed by Golf Course Superintenden~ and or Maintenance Supervisor. ILLUSTRATIVE T~SKS (Note: These examples are intended only as illustrations of the types of work performed in this classification. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment fo~ this position.) 1. Sprays chemicals on turf area for control of disease, in- sects and weeds and applies any other chemicals as directed. 2. Maintains a daily record of any chemical applications, quan- tities used and areas of application. 3. Stores chemicals and services and maintains an up-to-date inventory of all chemicals on hand. 4. Services and cleans all spraying equipment. 5. Operates light tractor types of spray equipment, mowers course. or tractor driven mower, various and other equipment used at a golf 6. Cleans equipment and may act as semi-skilled helper for Mechanic on small maintenance and repair jobs if requested. 7. Performs related~work as required. KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Thorough knowledge of the uses and safety precautions in mixing and using chemioals for golf course operation. Knowledge of the occupational hazards involved and the safety precautions necessary in the operation of various job related equipment. GOLF COURSE CHEMICAL SPRAY TECHNICIAN Cont. Page 2 KNOWLEDGEr ABILITIES AND SKILLS - Cont. Thorough knowledge of the Florida Right to Know Law. Basic mechanical knowledge and aptitude. Ability to operate various types of golf course equipment, safely and efficiently. Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING Possession of a current restricted pesticide applicators license issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture. Must have working knowledge of safety regulations and requirements for handling of pesticides and an appropriate State of Florida Drivers License. NECESSARY MINIMUM CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENT Must possess and maintain a current restricted pesticide applicators license during employment. A:GCCST.JD Res. 91-
