A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA
SUPPORTING A FUNDING OPTION FOR THE PALM
BEACH COUNTY LOCAL OPTION GAS TAX.
WHEREAS, discussions have been held for many months
concerning an agreeable and equitable funding option for a
split of the Local Option Gas Tax between the Board of
~ounty Commissioners and the thirty-seven (37)
unicipalities in Palm Beach County, and
WHEREAS the City Commission of the City of Boynton
~each, Florida has determined that the most equitable split
is 75/25 commencing in 1996 (sometimes described as "Option
3")
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The most equitable split for the Local
Dption Gas Tax has been determined to be a 75/25 split with
the Municipalities received an aggregate of 25%, commencing
in 1996. The Board of County Commissioners is urged to
support this option and adopt a similar statement of policy
mnd forward such statement to the Palm Beach County
Municipal League.
Section 2. The City Clerk of the City of Boynton
Beach, Florida shall cause a copy of this Resolution to be
furnished to the Chair, Palm Beach County Board of County
2ommissioners, the County Administrator and to the Palm
Beach County Municipal League.
