A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH DESIGNATING
SPECIFIC AREAS WITHIN THE CITY AS "DRUG
FREE PARK ZONES"; PROVIDING FOR
ADMINISTRATIVE ACTION REGARDING NOTICE
AND POSTING; PROVIDING FOR DISSEMINATION;
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE; AND FOR
OTHER PURPOSES.
WHEREAS, the State Legislature has enacted provisions
for increased penalties for the sale, purchase, manufacture,
delivery or possession of controlled substances within 200
feet of public parks, and
WHERE~S, the City Commission of the City of Boynton
Beach wishes to take affirmative action to assist the State
in the prosecution of such crimes within the vicinity of
public parks,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA THAT:
Section 1. The areas depicted by hatch mark circles
on the maps attached to this Resolution as composite Exhibit
No. "1" are hereby designated as "Drug Free Park Zones".
Section 2. The City administration is directed to
take appropriate action to advise the public of these "Drug
Free Park Zones" by public notification or posting.
Section 3. The City Clerk is directed to
disseminate this Resolution to the State Attorney's Office.
Section 4. This Resolution will become effective
immediately upon passage.
