Communications and Announcements A. Historic Plaque Update – Update on the ordering of the large (AO5) plaques for local designations. B. Proposal for Historic Preservation Services – A proposal has been received from Historica, LLC. for assisting with designation applications. C. Training sessions attended – Staff training update. D. Status of 211 E. Ocean Avenue (a.k.a. Magnuson House) – The Community Redevelopment Agency Board is considering a Letter of Intent (LOI) for the sale or rent of the property for use as a restaurant. 4. Old Business: A. Historic Preservation Programming – Staff will continue facilitating the Board’s strategic plan development efforts with continued establishment of goals and/or priorities. 5. Other 6. Item 3. Communications and Announcements A. Historic Plaque Update – A funding source has been identified and the two large (AO5) plaques intended for the Old High School and Boynton School (i.e. Children’s School House Museum) are scheduled to be ordered this week. B. Proposal for Historic Preservation Services – A proposal has been received from Warren Adams, Director of Historica, LLC. for assisting with review and processing of the application for the local historic designation of 413 NE 12th Avenue. See attachments. C. Training sessions for CLGs attended – Two sessions were attended by staff as offered by the National Alliance of Preservation Commissions as part of their Commission Assistance & Mentoring Program (CAMP). The two separate sessions focused on Historic Preservation Programs, and Resilience and Disaster Management. More information will be shared during the discussion on developing a historic preservation program. D. Status of 211 E. Ocean Avenue (a.k.a. Magnuson House) – The Barber Family Companies LLC. has given the CRA Board a Letter of Interest (LOI) initiating discussions about the acquisition and adaptive reuse of the subject property for the operation of a restaurant. Staff will also share additional information about the project to be collected at a pre-application meeting planned for Monday, October 11th. Excerpts from the current conceptual plan for the property are attached. Item 4.A. Historic Preservation Programming Staff will continue facilitating the Board’s efforts to develop a strategic plan, with continued consideration of goals and priorities, as well as prioritizing or phasing tasks or projects with an emphasis on feasible initiatives based on available resources. Staff will share applicable information attained from the recent training sessions to fuel continued discussions regarding programming efforts.
