AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH,
FLORIDA, AMENDING SECTION 27-14 OF THE CODIFIED
ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY, INCREASING RATES
AUTHORIZED TO BE CHARGED FOR TAXICAB FARES;
FURTHER :PROVIDING FOR REPEALING AND SAVINGS
CLAUSES, AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER
PURPOSES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That the first paragraph of Section 27-14 of the
Codified Ordinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, be, and the
same is, hereby amended to read:
"Sec. 27-14. Rates of fare - Rate card required.
No owner or driver of a taxicab shall charge a greater sum for
the use of a taxicab than in accordance with the following rates,
to wit: Fifty (50¢) cents for the first one-quarter (1/4) mile or
fraction thereof, and ten (10G) cents for each additional one-
quarter (1/~)~mile or fraction thereof. ,r
Section 2: Repealing Provisions: All ordinances or parts of
ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: Separabili~iy~ Should any section or provision of the
ordinance, or any portion hereof be declared by a court of competent juris-
~iction to be invalid, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remainder
hereof as a whole or any part hereof, other than the part declared to be invalid.
Section 4: Effective Date: This ordinance shall become effective in
the manner and at the time provided by the charter and ordinances of the City
)f Boynton Beach, Florida.
Section 5: Authority is granted to codify this Ordinance in City's e~:~
