A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AMENDING RESOLUTION R21-026 TO INCREASE TO THE ANNUAL
EXPENDITURE FOR SERVICES ASSOCIATED WITH THE SUPPLEMENTAL
BUILDING INSPECTIONS AND PLAN REVIEW SERVICES, BID NO. 021-
2411-20/RW FROM $350,000.00 TO $525,000.00 ANNUALLY FOR THE
DURATION OF THE CONTRACT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE.
WHEREAS, on February 16, 2021, the City Commission approved bid no 021-
2411-20RW via Resolution R21-026 for "Supplemental Building Inspections and Plan
Review Services" awarding one year agreements with the option for annual renewal with
C.A.P. Government, Inc., Universal Engineering Sciences, Inc., and Calvin, Giordano &
Associates in an amount not to exceed $350,000.00 annually; and
WHEREAS, due to shortages in qualified inspectors and plan reviewers, the
Building Division has been primarily utilizing the contractual services for single disciplined
inspectors to help supplement some of the City Inspectors, as well as division vacancies,
in order to satisfy the inspection requirements of the Florida Building Code (FBC); and
WHEREAS, staff is requesting to increase the annual expenditure for services from
$350,000.00 to $525,000.00 annually which will allow for the proper accounting and
expenditure of funds for services on an as needed basis; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach upon
recommendation of staff, deems it to be in the best interest of the citizens and residents
to approve amending Resolution R21-026 to increase to the annual expenditure for
services associated with the Supplemental Building Inspections and Plan Review Services,
Bid No. 021-2411-20/RW from $350,000.00 to $525,000.00 annually for the duration of
the contract.

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
2 OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
3 Section 1. The foregoing "Whereas" clauses are hereby ratified and confirmed
4 as being true and correct and are hereby made a specific part of this Resolution upon
5 adoption.
6 Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, hereby
7 approves amending Resolution R21-026 to increase to the annual expenditure for services
8 associated with the Supplemental Building Inspections and Plan Review Services, Bid No.
9 021-2411-20/RW from $350,000.00 to $525,000.00 annually for the duration of the
10 contract.
11 Section 3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately.
