O69-10 O~DINANCE NO. 69 .--~k___ AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, AMENDING CHAPTER 8 OF THE CODIFIED ORDINANCES OF SAID CITY PERTAINING TO FILING OF CAMPAIGN CONTRI- BUTIONS AND EXPENDITURES BY CANDIDATES FOR MUNICIPAL POLITICAL OFFICES; PROVIDING FOR AUTHORITY TO CODIFY, SAVINGS CLAUSE, REPEALING PROVISIONS, PENALTY PROVISIONS, AN EFFECTIVE DATE AND FOR OTHER PURPOSE S. BEIT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA that Chapter 8 of the Codified Ordinances of said City be, and the same '"~is~ hereby, amended by adding thereto an additional section to be designated as Section 8-26, which shall read: "Section 8-26: In connection with the conduct of any primary, general or special election held within the City, for the purpose of electing candidates to the position of Mayor or City Councilman, it shall be required that each of such candidates shall file, under oath, with the City Clerk, a true and correct accounting of all campaign contributions received and campaign expenditures made in connection with their respective candidacies. Such reports shall be filed with the City Clerk within seven (7) days after the date of any primary election, and within twenty-one (21) days after any such general or special elections, upon forms provided for such purpose by the City Clerk." Section 2:. Authority to Codify: Specific authority is hereby granted to codify and incorporate this Ordinance in the City's existing Code. Section 3: Separability: Each of the provisions of this Ordinance are separable, including word, clause, phrase or sentence, and if any portion hereof shall be declared invalid, the remaining portion shall not be affected but shall remain in full force and effect. Section~4: Repealing Provisions: All ordinances or parts of ordinances in'conflict herewith are hereby repealed. Section 5: Penalty Provisions: Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this Section shall be punished by fine not exceeding $500.00 or imprisonment in the City Jail for a period not exceeding ninety (90) days, or by both such fine and imprisonment. Section 6: Effective Date; This Ordinance shall become effective in the manner and at the time provided in the Charter and O~-dinances of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida.
