A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND
CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A CERTAIN
INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
BOYNTON BEACH AND PALM BEACH COUNTY
HOUSING AUTHORITY, A COPY OF SAID
AGREEMENT BEING ATTACHED HERETO AS
EXHIBIT "1"; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE
DATE; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Commission
of the City of Boynton Beach, Florida, that:
Section 1. The Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute that certain Agreement, a
copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit "1".
Section 2. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon passage.

I NTERLOCAL AGREEMENT
(Municipality and County Housing Authority)
THIS INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT made and entered into this day
of , 19__, by and between PALM BEACH COUNTY HOUSING
AUTHORITY (hereinafter "COUNTY AUTHORITY"), a public body
corporate and politic created and existing pursuant to the
provisions of Chapter 421, Florida Statutes, and
(hereinafter "MUNICIPALITY"), a municipality created and existing
pursuant to the provisions of Florida Statutes.
W I T N E S S E T H:
WHEREAS, it is the policy of Palm Beach County and the
MUNCIPALI.TY to eliminate substandard and other inadequate housing,
to prevent the spread of slums and blights, and to realize as soon
as feasible the goal of a decent home and a suitable living
environment for all of their respective citizens; and~
WHEREAS, Palm Beach County pursuant to duly enacted ordinances
created the COUNTY AUTHORITY to provide better housing for its
citizens and the MUNICIPALITY now desires to help effectuate this
goal within its municipal confines; and
WHEREAS, Section 421.11, Florida Statutes, provides that any
county housing authority may join or cooperate with local
governing bodies pursuant to the "Florida Interlocal Cooperation
Act of 1969," being Part I of Chapter 163, Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, the Parties hereto now desire to enter into an
Interlocal Agreement authorizing the COUNTY AUTHORITY, or a not-
for-profit corporation acting on behalf of the COUNTY AUTHORITY,
to acquire one (1) or more parcels of real property, improved by
housing units, within the confines and jurisdiction of the
MUNICIPALITY, and to rehabilitate such units, as necessary, and
rent them to persons of low income.
NOW, THEREFORE, the Parties hereto agree as follows:
1. The MUNICIPALITY hereby authorizes the COUNTY AUTHORITY,
or a not-for-profit corporation acting on behalf of the COUNTY
AUTHORITY, to acquire title to one (1) or more parcels of real
property, improved by housing units, located within the confines
of the MUNICIPALITY, and to rehabilitate such units, as necessary,
and rent them to persons of low income.
2. It is understood and agreed that the authority granted
herein to the COUNTY AUTHORITY shall relate only to existing
housing located within the jurisdiction of the MUNICIPALITY and to
such housing only and that pursuant hereEo the COUNTY AUTHORITY
may deal directly with the owners of such existing housing.
3. It is understood and agreed that, other than as provided
herein, the said MUNICIPALITY shall continue to exercise full
jurisdiction over housing within its geographical limits.
4. This Agreement shall become effective upon the filing of
a counterpart hereof with the Clerk of the Circuit Court in and
for Palm Beach County, Florida.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the Parties hereto have hereunto set their
