RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, RECOGNIZING THE
MANY CONTRIBUTIONS THAT THE LATECOMMISSIONER
EZELL HESTER, JR. MADE TO THE CITY OF BOYNTON
BEACH, FLORIDA.
WHEREAS, Commissioner Ezell Hester, Jr. has been a dedicated
public servant and community leader for all residents of Boynton Beach; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Ezell Hester, Jr. has served the residents
of Boynton Beach diligently as District II Commissioner for four and a
half years with prior service on the City's Planning and Zoning Board,
Civil Service Board, Board of Adjustment, Boynton Beach Day Care Center
Board of Directors, and the Black Democratic Caucus of Palm Beach County
and the State of Florida, member of the Socialites Club of Boynton
Beach, the American Legion of Florida, National League of Cities, an
educator for 35 years in the Palm Beach County School system, and a devoted
member of the St. John Missionary Baptist Church serving as Vice-Chairman
of the Deacon Board; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Ezell Hester, Jr. has supported the efforts
of the Boynton Beach Black Awareness Day Committee activities through which
citizens are educated as to the contributions African-American people have
made to this country; and
WHEREAS, Commissioner Ezell Hester, Jr. has devoted numerous hours
working toward ameliorating the City of Boynton Beach as a whole.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA, THAT:
Section 1. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach for-
mally extends its sincere gratitude to the late Commissioner Ezell Hester,
Jr. for the countless and invaluable contributions that~ he made to this
community.
Section 2. The City Commission of the City of Boynton Beach
hereby encourages all citizens to follow the admirable precedent of com-
munity service, spirit of cooperation, and sincere dedication exhibited by
Commissioner Ezell Hester, Jr. in his tireless endeavor to improve the
overall quality of life in our community.
