However, it seems that people are losing their steam. I feel an 8-week commitment, especially every Saturday, is a lot to ask of people. One class in July was canceled due to scheduling conflicts, the entire 8 weeks was shifted back with the last day of the workshop being September 10. The Small Business Resource Fair will be help August 4, the first Thursday of the month. We have five vendors set up, we will be holding it in the Tech Runway Innovation Space on the first floor of City Hall. We are excited to see how this does, if it goes well, John Durgan(with the Economic Development Department) and I intend to have a resource fair every quarter. We have decided to phase out the coffee aspect in our programs. Not many people choose to drink the coffee, tea, or hot chocolate, and it is not only an expense we can cut,but it adds to the work of set up and breakdown. We have decided to change the name of the program to "Crafting in the Library." We counted 30 attendees. We had five vendors present: SCORE, the Boynton Beach CRA, Florida Women's Business Center, Hispanic Entrepreneur Initiative, and the Tech Runway Innovation Group. The library had a table promoting the Studio, Technology Classes and all library programs and databases. We brought down the 3D printer to catch everyone attention. John Durgan was also present, representing the Economic Development Department. SCORE was thrilled at the end of the event, already talking about attending a future resource fair. One gentleman took the time to go upstairs and get himself a library card and he came back down to show Brianna and me. It was a fantastic evening. The every Saturday program with the Florida Women's Business Center is coming to a close. Attendance started strong in August at the beginning, but it is obvious that the participants are getting tired. We started with 42 participants and we are down to 18. Appointments in the Studio are going great. I am continuously getting new people in the Studio. This month alone, I had eight new people. In September we will restart the evening Custom Card Crafting program. We have had long waitlists these few months without it,bringing back this additional class will help. We will be discontinuing providing coffee, tea, and hot chocolate in our programs. Not many people partake, and it will help us to eliminate an extra thing to set up. This class will be repeated at a later date to see if there are any other people interested in this topic. Job Skills Series: Employable Skills— 1 attendee; a 19-year-old who is new to the workforce attended this class two hours before their first interview.
