89-IRESOLUTION NO. 89-~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTONBEACH, FLORIDA ADOPTING JOB DESCRIPTIONS AND MAKING THEIR POSITIONS PART OF THE PAY PLAN. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF BOYNTON BEACH, FLORIDA; The job descriptions with the duties and responsibili- ties of the positions of Storekeeper I in a Pay Grade 18 and Storekeeper II in a Pay Grade 22 are attached and made a part hereof and adding them to the Pay Plan. Employee in this position allocated to this class performs routine manual tasks in receiving, storing and issuing tools, supplies and parts. Work is performed under general supervision of a higher level superior. ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS (Note: These examples are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed in this classification. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this position.) Receives, unpacks, checks for required specifications on incoming supplies; Coordinates with supervisor concerning supply levels; Assists warehouse supervisor on inventory records and data entry; Conducts periodic physical inventory, checks condition status for expiration, deterioration and damage and takes appropriate action; Performs routine clerical duties involving filing, record keeping, reports and minimal typing skills; Performs related work as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS Knowledge of the methods and procedures of storing materials and supplies in a warehouse facility. Knowledge of warehousing principles and practices including inventory control and data entry. Ability to verify purchase order specifications conformance and condition status. · Ability to maintain appropriate records, inventories, etc. Ability to communicate orally and in writing and to follow instructions in English. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationship with co-worke rs. Knowledge of warehouse equipment including fork lift. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Graduation from high school or an equivalent. Minimum 1 year experiehce required_~in warehouse work or related training experi- ence; some experience required in general office procedures. Fork- lift experience required, typing experience desired. Must possess valid Florida driver's license. StoreI. ref Res. 89- STOREKEEPER II NATURE OF WORK This is manual, clerical and limited administrative work. Work involves planning and directing, issuing of all commodities and materials. Supervision is exercised in warehouse supervisor's absence. May involve overtime and after hours duty, as required. Work is performed under general supervision of a higher level supervisor. ILLUSTRATIVE TASKS (Note: These examples are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work performed in this classification. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this position.) Coordinates requisitions, storing and issuing of supplies and materials;. Checks quantity and quality of goods for specifications; Conducts periodic physical inventories; checks condition status for expiration, deterioration and damage and takes appro- priate action; Assists supervisor in preparation of annual budget. Performs related work as required. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE~ ABILITIES AND SKILLS Knowledge of materials and supplies stored. Knowledge of warehousing principles and practices including inventory control and data entry. Ability to verify purchase order specification, conformance and condition status. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Graduation from high school or equivalent. Minimum three years warehouse experience required, including one year of'supervi- sory experience in warehouse operation.
